Week 21 Activities and Homework

Week 21 Activities and Homework (January 18-22, 2010)

Language Arts:

M: No school. Remember Martin Luther King Jr’s work!

T: Begin research on WWII topic for research paper. HW: plan trip to public library for research materials.

W: Continue research on WWII topic for research paper. HW: research online and at public library.

TH: DUE: 2 pages of notes on WWII topic and source list. Continue research, make outline of research paper.

F: DUE: outline of research paper. AIMS practice, journaling. HW: go to public library to research WWII topic.

Honors:
-schedule is same as above. Literature selections, grammar, vocabulary, and activities will differ from regular language arts class.

Goals:
The student will:
• Evaluate sources for usefulness and relevance
• Demonstrate good note-taking skills when researching a topic
• Understand and apply techniques for skimming and reading to find main idea facts
• Analyze topic and create an outline of salient points for a research paper
• Improve grammar skills with exercises and drills
• Improve vocabulary through the study of Greek and Latin roots.
